Hello,
I'm a Computer Scientist living in Paris for more than a year now. I was living with a dog back home but my current circumstances don't allow me to have my own pet here. I find my life quite dull without her and I miss her a lot. I love cats too. Pet-sitting is my attempt at borrowing a little bit of the brightness that your pets are shining in your lives, and sharing the responsibility of taking care of them in return.
My parents adopted our dog when she was 3 years old. The humans who raised her needed to move to another country and they were unable to bring her with them. They chose our family with extreme care after examining our house and lifestyle. In the early days, I only got to spend time with her during the holidays as I was studying in a different city. She mostly treated me like a guest who is fun to play with. I moved back with my parents at the beginning of the pandemic and got to live there with her for 1.5 years before moving to Paris. Our relationship evolved gradually with time and she accepted me as a member of the family. She suffered severe skin infection during that time which gave me a chance to provide care for her. I got involved with her vet-appointments, walks, food and baths. I taught her new vocal queues and we invented many fun games to play together. I also suffered a huge personal loss during that time. She kept me in her adorable and soothing company while I grieved. Currently she is living happily with my parents at home. But it breaks my heart when she still responds to my voice over calls despite my not being able to visit her for months. Living with her made me a better human. She taught me to be playful and spontaneous. She also taught me how to be patient and responsible.
I know that I have much less experience with pets in comparison to someone who grew up with them or has been living with them for many years. But I'm confident that just like my dog, I will win the heart of your pet too. We will become best buddies in no time. Given that they're vaccinated, - I can take your dog for a 30 minutes walk in the morning before 10 AM on any day of the week - I can also take them for a 30 minutes walk in the evening depending on the day - I can visit your home to check on your pet for 30 minutes and keep you updated while you're away
